my contact list is being updated

i have updated my mobile last 15days before but still it is showing that "contact list is being updated"

Are there any contact names with special characters? Sometimes those can make sync act wonky, but I guess you'd notice missing contacts after that.

Do you see a 'last synced' date/time there?
