My contacts keep disappearing on a Galaxy S7

I have a Galaxy S7 and I use Facebook Hello as my default contacts app. I use Facebook Messenger as my default text messaging app.

The problem that I've been having is that new contacts keep disappearing from my phone other day.

I have one group message where one of the members whose phone number I added last year remains saved in my phone, but every other day, everyone else disappears. I end up having to go back into my phone and save them all over again, and match them with their Facebook profiles. It's definitely to do with time because that one member of the group that I added over a year ago never disappears.

I'm wondering if it has to do with my installation of Facebook hello, or my defaults. I don't know. I just don't want to have to keep adding the same people over and over again in my address book.

Does anyone know what might be causing this problem? Thank you so much for any feedback. I appreciate any ideas.

Welcome to Android Central! When the contact seems to disappear, search your Contacts app for that phone number. Does it show up as the contact's name? I've been noticing that bug lately when I select a phone number and try to add it to an existing contact. For some reason, the contact's name changes to the phone number (i.e., the phone number is listed as the contact's name).

Also, which account are these disappearing contacts saved to? Your Google account, Samsung account, or local Phone account?
