I've been patiently waiting for my VZW contract end in March. Pretty much set on getting the best deal for an upgrade for the MotoX with contract from Costco and I went by the mobile kiosk today and the guy said they were sold out and not getting more MotoX but they have the Turbo now.

Bummed out because I really don't want the turbo or a Samsung. I didn't even see the G3 or M8 there anymore.

Not much difference between the X & the turbo. The Qi charging on the turbo & large battery should interest you.

The turbo is a nice device. A little larger. Excellent battery life and speed. Make sure to check the manufacture date on the box to ensure it was made after Nov 2014.

Costco you get a free home and car turbo charger with the Turbo.
What happened before Nov?
It seems petty but the capacitive (not on screen) buttons bother me. Even when I get 5.0 I'll be stuck with KitKat buttons forever.

I'm not a fan of the capacitative buttons either. I really don't understand why Moto did that with the Turbo. The only other criticism I would have is its weight. It's kind of got that macho NOW THIS IS A PHONE! vibe going compared to the slender, melts-in-your-hand sexiness of the Moto X. On the other hand, it does have that huge battery - a definite plus for a lot of people.

The Turbo like all of the Droids are pretty much designed around what Verizon wants so it's very likely it was Verizon that requested the capacitive buttons to better distinguish it from the Moto X and also make it more similar to the Samsung devices. It's a shame because they are a large reason I wouldn't get a Turbo myself.

Try going to a different Costco? That's weird that it would be "sold out" when the phone is still very much for sale. Does Costco only stock a limited number of any one phone and once they're gone, they're gone?

I don't know, they don't have it any more. But typically Costco gives members a better price. A free phone at Costco will usually be cheaper than a free phone from Verizon. Because of sales tax (I'm in CA)
