My Droid Turbo has no cell service with my Metro PCS SIM card

I have a Droid Turbo and a metro PCS SIM card. I have watched videos online showing that Droid Turbo can be used with other GSM networks by changing the SIM card. When I insert the metro PCS SIM, it recognizes that a SIM card is present and that it is not from Verizon. I understand that this is not an actual issue. However, I have no cellular service with the new SIM. To clarify this is NOT a problem with the mobile data or setting the right APN. There is simply no service when there should be. The blog The Unlockr shows that using a Droid Turbo on other carriers is possible and hypothetically problem free. Metro PCS even operates on T Mobile's network.

The Droid Turbo only has the following bands:

4G bands LTE band 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 7(2600), 13(700)

Metro PCS uses Band 2 so technically it should work.
