OK so I was inspired after joining this forum and reading posts on user tweaks and setups. I've had a number of complaints about this phone since I bought it for my wife and me a day after it launched. From the non existent GPS on our phones, (No, kidding... It wasn't even installed on our phones out of the box. Caused quite a stir in the store trust me!) to the sluggish performance of Touchwiz and the lack of promised updates from Samsung/Verizon that would fix some of my gripes, like the backlit capacitive buttons. I've had my share of grief from this phone and my wife has too. But we endeavored to see if it got better.
Well it has!
After doing the Google Search tweak and installing a few apps from the market and changing some settings, these phones are now running faster than a cheetah and gazelle racing to the almost empty water hole. I detailed all the changes I made to mine in a post above in the screen shots sticky. Check it out if you wish but I warn you it's a little long and detailed.

The tweaks my wife made to her phone are similar but with a decidedly feminine appeal. These phones are now blazing along better than new. I can't thank you all enough here at Android Central and in this forum for inspiring us to no longer get mad but get crazy and change what we didn't like about these phones. We are suddenly happy about leaving AT&T and the iPhone again!
(shhhh... don't tell anybody)
Now on to the next project... Rooting the phones and putting custom ROMS on. After I research and carefully study the methods of the madness that is!
