I'm new to the scene here and will be counting on some good advice

There is plenty of info on this site.

You will find IMHO that you won't have to choose a network based on the device you want.
There are so many different android devices on all the networks (you won't run into the ATT only iphone for the first 2 years thing)

You will also find that your phone doesn't become "outdated" and boring as other OS's because there is so much customizing one can do.
