With all the other posts, sigh...I guess I was due. Was sending a text yesterday. Right in the middle of typing, g4 freezes up, and just goes black... Dies. Tried swapping batteries but nothing. Left it alone for an hour also nothing. Plugged it into my computer and didn't even recognize a device. Called Verizon and tried every type of reset and long story short...dead.

I missed the next day cutoff, so will need to wait until Monday for replacement. Still love this phone, but reading all these posts, and now I'm one of them, about the G4s just dying for no reason..is a bit worrysome.

Weird, right? I was in the middle of sending a text, and it just....died. Let it sit, changed batteries, tried to charge. Nothing was bringing it back to life. If you ever have time im interested in your thoughts on the v10.

So.......did you get your replacement yet??
I can give you my 2 cents on the V10 - (had it for a week) My personal opinion - awesome phone!! Looks great, feels great. For me there were 2 issues that made me switch and go back to the G4.
1. - It was just too big - screen size IS awesome but for me persoanlly carrying it in the pocket was too uncomfortable.
2. - As much as the "2nd" screen was innovative, it was actually useless - limited functions and "always on" mode is not as useful. It's just as easy to check alerts the old fashion way.

Like I said this is my personal opinion and overall I think it was a great phone, just not for me at this time. GL

I did get my replacement. Stuck with the g4. I inquired about the v10 but Verizon was pushing me to use my upgrade vs replacing the g4 foe free, so i stuck with the g4. From the quick research i did, the v10 battery seemed to have a little shorter of a life than the g4, so that sealed any doubt i had.

It would make sense, all other things being equal, that since the screen is a little bigger in the V10 the battery life would be a little worse.

However (and I'm only on day 4 with the V10) I was able to get 13h24m up time with 5h38m SOT and 12% battery left yesterday after getting my V10 setup exactly as I had my G4.

Those numbers are very similar to what I was getting with my G4. Both great phones!
