Maybe you are having a bad connection? Or maybe Google Assistant haven't ready for prime time.

Perhaps in your excitement, you said ok Google too differently than how it was recorded

I've also had this happen, the letting feature to activate needs a little work.

There seems to be a bug where the assistant stops listening and you have to reboot or force close the app to get it working again.
