Just received my 2XL, and coming from am Xperia compact, I am silently thinking to myself "what have I done? :(" in the first 10 mins :
1. This phone needs a case and screen protector! The curved glass is extremely prone to scratching the edges especially with frequent pulling out from your jeans pocket.
2. There is no smart blacklight control. You know that feature that keeps the screen on as long as you're looking at the screen? I hate having to touch the screen every minute or two just to let it know you're still using it.
3.The settings menu is way more complicated and deep! I thought a pure Android phone would be the simplest and easiest to use.

that's all for now :p

No scratches on my wives XL and she's had it since the beginning, almost a month now

I had the Xperia Compact for about a week and a half no fingerprint sensor phones missing a lot, Regular Pixel 2 couldn't be happier best phone ever

I had, or rather still have xperia Z5 compact and it has fingerprint sensor located in the most convenient spot even (at least for me) - the power button itself on the right side.

Why don't you just increase the screen on timeout?

Yeah I just adjust the screen timeout also and put it to sleep with the button.
Have the smaller P2 and really like it, some quirkiness not withstanding. Nothing's perfect but this is the closest I've come to it.

Yup that's something I just have to get used to again. I thought smart backlight was already a standard feature on fall flagship phones.

Far from being a standard.

Anyway I hate when the screen dims for me, even if I put the phone away I don't want the screen to turn off, I wanna control that myself. I always set the screen timeout to the max. The Pixel have 30min as max which is ok but on iPhones I always keep it on never, wish I had that option on android as well.
