My Galaxy S6 has gone black, I don't know what to do?

My Galaxy S6 has gone black, I don't know what to do.

My phone has been working absolutely fine since I bought it, which was around 2 months ago. But around half an hour ago I received a phone call, and after I was done, my device was completely unresponsive. The screen went black after I ended the call (from my cousin) and it hasn't been working since. I tried to do any type of restart you can think of, I tried plugging it into the charger, and I can dial my number but obviously no answer. I'm really freaking out as I'm expecting a very important phone call in a few hours. Could my phone have been hacked? What do I do? I'm desperate and I'm really scared. Please help.

Welcome to the AC Forums. Sorry you are having an issue. What exactly have you tried?

Try connecting it to your computer via USB and see if you can at least access your files.

If you miss the important call, hopefully you have set up voicemail. Some/most cell providers allow you to access your voicemail from another phone.

I've tried the home+volume(up)+lock and lock+volume. I did however find that plugging it into the computer first and then doing that fixed it. The issue has been resolved, but I want to know what happened. After I plugged it in to the computer and held lock+volume(down) the batter appeared to fill up to 92% (what it was on when it went black probably) then started up normally. Can you tell me what happened?

Really didn't expect it to clear the problem. I suggested it more as something to test if was really alive but the screen not working. So it's fully functional now? Might want to clear cache - possibly avoid a recurrence.

That's funny. I've noticed quite a few S6s including mine have been doing this all of a sudden. The volume down + power solved mine. I wonder if this is a bigger issue.

So far no problem with my Sprint s6, but you're right, it seems that it might be a bigger issue.

I'm glad you got it fixed! Nothing like having a messed up 700 dollar phone.

S6 Edge here - did it one time a couple of weeks ago and not again...yet!
