I wish i had never rooted my Nexus. Now the Sprint update has been downloaded to my phone and it is giving me the notification to update it and I keep having to hit "install later" because I followed a youtube root procedure a couple months ago when I got it. I fumbled my way through it, and now don't know how to get back to unrooted stock so i can od the update. If I ever get my phone back to stock with updates i am not rooting anymore, it is too much hassle to have to go through this every time there is a OTA update.

I have searched for recovery instructions but none of the ways ever seem complete, like I tried one on Youtube twrp and get some stuff done, BUT THEN THE DOWNLOAD link is empty and there's no stock file.

Here's the original youtube vid I used to root, it was crazy and took me hours and I am not even sure how I got through it.
How To Unlock and Root the Sprint / Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE / GSM!! - YouTube

This morning i tried this trwp thing and got the trwp recovery think loaded to my phone, but guess what, the stock revoery for Sprint file link is old, no files.

My god, can anyone help me get my phone back to stock Sprint so i can get the update, or at least tell me how to stop the update notification from popping up on my phone constantly? If I could even do that and then root with another Jelly bean process with no more notifications i would be happy to do that as well. Just hoping for some simple, step by step instructions and to actually have the links work and the files be there for download.

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

Also, is it possible to just do a factory reset on the phone, would that work with my bootloader unlocked? And then would i have to activate at Sprint again and be able to then get all the updates normally? I could just tell Sprint I ran the factory reset and wasn't sure what i was doing.

Install a custom ROM. But to get back to stock download wugstool kit. I tink that's the name of it. It does everything for you. But I think a custom to would stop it. I've never received a notification like that (VZW rooted gnex) so just try a custom jb rom. If not, download the tool kit to get you back to unrooted

I don't think you should really fumble through the root process, too many risks.

I would do what Irvgotti suggested and download and flash a custom ROM. I don't remember when the last time I got an update notification was.

If you wanna go the YouTube route, check for vids by QBKing777. He makes great video tutorials and tends to keep them up to date as well.

Agreed.

It seems like OP was going through the process without reading up on anything. Before I root any device I like read as much as I can and watch any videos that are available until I have a firm grasp on what I'm going to be doing. I also download any files ahead of time.

Is there a way to disable the notification to update? I am also rooted but using a stock rom and it is annoying the out of me.
