My HTC Desire shut off and won't turn on or charge, what should I do?

my htc desire shut off and won't turn on or charge

I was talking on it and it shut off like the battery went dead. I tried to turn it on and even tried to charge it but it's doing nothing. Not even the light for the charger will come on.

Welcome to Android Central! Which Desire model? Is the battery removable? If so, try a new or different battery.

How long did you try charging it up for on a wall outlet? Leave it plugged into a wall outlet for at least 4 hours, and see if you can power on. You can also try a different USB cable/charging plug.
