My HTC One gets worse reception than my old "HTC EVO 4G"

Yeah there's no need to go into philosophical debates here, (but it beats work, right?). Yeah I've been pretty happy with Sprint in the 8 years that I've been with them. Even though the service in my area is dominated by Verizon, the cost difference to go from "pretty happy" to "really happy" is way too big of a premium. Now, if I didn't have SERO, I would definitely switch to Verizon but at this point I'll have to "suffer" with my HTC ONE. I love our 1st world problems. God Bless the USA :D

Yes it does in fact beat working! :P I currently sitting in my office as we speak...But I do agree. If Sprint meets your needs then by all means I'd stick it out with them! One thing is for sure is the HTC One is a pretty great device! We agree on that yes? :)

FYI, not sure how many minutes you talk a month but im on T-MO small biz plan and pay 45 plus taxes for 1000 minutes and unlimited everything else..
Thats if you have good coverage.. Im in Dallas and where i go has the coverage i need. So im extremely happy i went from sprint, 11 years, to T-Mobile now 7 months..

You know, as much as I'd like to agree with you... while "the One" is definitely sleeker and faster and prettier, etc, etc, than my EVO 4G ever was, now having owned the One for almost two weeks, I have to say that had my EVO 4G not broken down to the point of unusability (screen went so that I couldn't even unlock it, it was just unresponsive to any touch), I would have stayed with the EVO, for 3 reasons:

1) I could fit it in my hand and could reach all the controls on the screen with one hand without having to constantly shift the phone up or down or use two hands
2) EVO 4G worked on WiMax 4G, and I was definitely not prepared to go back to 3G, since HTC One doesn't support WiMax, but only LTE, which is still "2-5 months away" according to a Sprint rep, and I only trust those guys as far as I can throw them. That's not much.
3) $200 + tax is a lot of money to pay (for me) for something that I am this mildly excited about. I only did it out of need, which is unfortunate. My original plan was to wait until it dropped in price to at least $100 or less, and even then only if I really wanted it.

So, yeah, it's a great phone if you're just getting into phones, I guess, or if you're a gadget fiend, or you just really love your phone. It's not "revolutionary" enough for 3 years of development, in my eyes. I hope to be proven wrong, however, as I continue to use and enjoy my new toy over the next couple years.

Where I live T-Mobile ranks as the worst, unfortunately... So that wasn't an option, or I'd go with it.

Now, what I really need to figure out is how to lock my phone into Roaming Only mode. That way I can get Verizon coverage when I need it without waiting to be completely on the edge...

Ranks as the worst. That's fine and dandy. But what are your real world tests?

Oh, I have first hand experience. My gf is on Straight Talk which goes through TMobile here and she gets "OK" reception in the city, "workable" in the suburbs, and "nonexistent" anywhere outside of town or country land, even as close as 20 miles outside the city

Yep. Same here. As long as your in a city you're ok, but as soon as you enter the country....fageddaboutiiit !!

Penegue. If your area doesn't have LTE get a WiMAX device and wait for a Motorola LTE device. Get the Photon 4G. Excellent reception.

I wouldn't have left Sprint if they didn't 'accidentally' change my plan. Their service is second only to Verizon.

Verizon > Sprint >>>AT&T>>>>>>T-Mo.
