My keyboard sometimes does not appear on my pixel 3.

I tried to follow one of the solutions given in another thread, to go to settings, apps, touch input, clear data but i cant find touch input anywhere. It is a brand new phone..

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using Gboard, or some other keyboard you installed from the Play Store? When does it not appear -- is it pretty random, or does it only happen in certain apps?
