Purchased a new LG G4 from Sprint last week. Been AOK until today...Fully charged it last night, placed it bedside operating on battery all night, had a dead device this AM. I reseated the battery, it's operational again. Problems already? Really?? Please suggest/advise. Thank you.

And I'm sure it's under warranty still :)

When it was dead you reseated the battery and it worked, or you had to recharge and the battery was empty? Can you recreate the problem?

Re: New LG G4...

Did you install an app recently? Maybe it ran rouge and rapidly depleted your battery while you slept?

Re: New LG G4...

Possibly a problem with losing signal during the overnight hours and draining the battery trying to re-establish. I leave my G4 on overnight and only lose about 3-6% of my battery. Much better than my S4 was in that regard.

Also, what did your battery usage stats say?

Re: New LG G4...

I actually tested this myself last night as I usually leave my phone on charge overnight. It was 97% at 11:30pm, at 7:30 it was 92%. Not bad. Wifi on, no bluetooth.

My phone was garbage day one, quit on me by 6:00pm. Yesterday it made it to bedtime at 10:00 with 13%. Today it's at 35% coming up to 10:00...no changes, no location differences, each day in a LOUSY cell phone area.

Really starting to like this phone.

I lost 3% overnight.

The times I have had an issue like this. (battery drain for no reason) typically occurs due to one of the following.
1 the phone trying to secure a data connection with a weak signal. Both WiFi and carrier have caused this.
-For this I will turn off the data connection causing the issue. Until I get to a place with a solid connection.
2previous opened app still running in the back ground
-for this I go to "recents" and clear all.

It took me 3 full charges to start seeing decent battery life. I thought maybe it was a one-off, but I just got the LG power pack thingy (the mini charger case which charges a spare battery outside of the phone). I charged the spare up, and used it yesterday, and it plummeted just like the original battery did at first. Today it's near-normal.

There definitely seems to be something to be said for 'Running-In' a new battery.... although technically this shouldn't be the case.
