Anyone else having this issue? I'm in NYC but my maps app keeps thinking I'm in the NYNY Casino in Las Vegas whenever I'm on my home wifi (twc)
All the other maps including yelp, chrome, menupages, etc think I'm in NYC.
My laptop and Galaxy Tab 7 are fine with no issues.
Seems like this is happening to some others with newer Samsung devices. link below.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... LOL...

Sorry I had to throw that one in there...

Has your router ever been in Las Vegas? I have heard reports where the Google van maps a router and applies a location to it. This is how they can use a router for location information. If the router moves, unless Google maps it again it still thinks it is in the original location. If this is your case, somewhere on the web is a site where you can make a change to your router's location but I don't remember what the URL is.

interesting about changing the mapping of the router. anyone know the website offhand.
a couple of things here.
-router has never been in vegas. i havent been in awhile either.
-reports of other newer samsung devices have the exact same problem (nexus, nex7 and s3) when connected to wifi. all show up exactly in the same corner of the NYNY casino.

-it mapped to vegas for only 3 days in June and then again for the last 5 days. the rest of the time in nyc.
-my other apps are just fine. chrome, yelp, even google maps in a browser shows the right location. its just the map/lat apps that show vegas. soo odd.

It's th same on my iPad, but it thinks I'm in urbandale Iowa and I live in arkansas. It's showing that's where I am when I check in on Facebook and also when I use my weather apps.

Go to settings, application manager, go to all programs and click on maps and click the clear data button. If it doesn't work then the only option you have is to factory restore it. If you backed up your phone on your google account then you can restore from that back up when you get to the setup menu after you do the factory restore. Hope I helped.
