My mini is running really slow and text messages don't send

I am extremely frustrated with my one year old s4 mini. Suddenly my texts are taking an average of ten minutes to send. The video camera does not work. :-!:-!I can't access facebook and several other apps and can't play games. I did the battery removal reboot thing and it DID NOT WORK. Absolutely no improvement. I want to throw this thing at the wall.

You can try clearing the cache partition. You should be able to do that by:
Power off your device completely.
Press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons simultaneously.
Release the buttons when the phone’s screen flickers or the Stock / CWM / TWRP Recovery logo appears.
That is it, after you release buttons, you will be taken to the main Recovery Mode menu.
Use its settings to apply any tasks you wish in order to improve your Galaxy S4 operating system. ( clear cache partition)
To reboot back to normal Galaxy S4 mode, you need to return to the first Recovery screen and select ‘reboot system’.
