My Moto X Pure Edition gets really hot while charging with the TurboPower Charger

As said above. I didn't even have the screen on, and plugged it in and left the room for a bit. I came back about 10 minutes later and the front and back was pretty hot. Is this normal? This is my first moto device so is this just something I need to get used to?

Was it updating a bunch of apps too? It should only get warm if charging.

It was not. Wifi wasn't on and I leave airplane mode on all the time because I don't use service. All it was doing what charging. So I take it this is normal, then. The amount of time it takes to charge is impressive at least.

Mine does to. It's the Turbocharger that causes it to warm up. Once it hits about 50% or so it'll slow the charging down and cool off. My S6 did the same thing when it was quick charging.

I noticed that. I should have waited until it fully charged before coming here; its back to normal now.

As cwise222 stated, it's normal behavior with the Turbo charger. My 2014 behaves the same way.

It gets hot when you take video shooting for 10 mins and also when you're watching youtube for a long period of time. I just never had this type of hot smartphone before.. Should I be worried? hmm

As cwise222 stated, it's normal behavior with the Turbo charger. My 2014 behaves the same way.

My 2014 gets hot with the turbo charger too until it hits about 60% or so and then the temp falls back to normal.

Note 4 does not get hot fast charging. Warm, but not hot. What kind of voodoo charging is going on here and why would something as CPU GPU mundane as YouTube get the device hot? I do not recall any device getting hot watching YouTube for an hour and a half, yet alone ten minutes. I say an hour and a half, since that is the longest straight I recall watching YouTube.

Odd. I just went from 15% to 100% with the TurboPower Charger and I did not notice my phone getting warm at all.

Do you have an app to show what the temp is? Something can feel hot / warm but not really be in a bad temperature.

Might depend on ur outlet. Not all outlets put out the same electricity lol

OP, please call tech support since excess heat can be a sign of a bad battery cell. How long does your charge last? If seems lower than expected there could be a problem with the battery. Could be.
