My Moto X Shipped 24 Days Ahead of Schedule!

32 GB, Ebony Wood Back, Red Accents. Ordered using Moto Maker 3 days ago. Estimated shipping date was Oct. 22. Just received email notification from Verizon that it shipped today from Fort Worth Texas, with an estimated delivery date of Oct. 1st.

My guess is that they are grossly over-estimating shipping dates. Good strategy if you want to make sure those who order the phone are ECSTATIC that they do not have to wait as predicted.

Good timing too. The gorilla glass on my 2-year-old Motorolla Droid Maxx HD just cracked TODAY!

I upgraded to almost the exact same configuration (orange accents), from almost the same phone (Razr HD), on the same day. No shipping notification for me yet though....hopefully soon.

While I agree the "Underpromise, Overdeliver" approach can be good, they may be overdoing it a bit. I've read quite a few posts on blogs, where people are canceling their orders because of the estimated long wait time. If this is indeed on purpose and not a logistics issue, they may want to make an adjustment. That said, I'm patiently waiting for mine to arrive.

The other reason is probably the old CYA policy - the last thing they want are "where's my phone?" complaints.

I'm not sure that this is a strategy. I'm glad you are getting your phone so quickly, though, and you won't be without a phone for long.

My order was originally supposed to be delivered on September 29th, but they came back and delayed it two more weeks. The microphone for my current phone isn't working, so I can't make or receive voice calls on my phone. I would love to get my phone sooner than predicted.

This sounds awesome. Hopefully the same happens to me. I ordered the 32 GB with the black leather, and silver trim. Upgrading from a Galaxy S4 and looking forward to dropping TouchWiz forever.

I am with Verizon. Ordered mine Friday, got the “We are making it" email Saturday. Didn't hear anything and found the phone on my porch this afternoon. 32GB Black on Black.

Side note - This thing is amazing. Fly's and feels great in the hand.
