moto X style / pure storage space missing - 64 Gb

I got my replacement moto x style / pure last week. One week was pretty fine usage wise. Today I noticed today that something is wrong with the storage usage. It shows total storage space of 53 GB (it's 64 gb version) and available storage space of 29 odd GB. I have only used 6 GB with apps and media until now, that means i am missing 18 GB somewhere ??
Diskusage app shows 22 GB being used by the system memory. That's surely a problem I guess.
This is already my second moto x style...i returned the first one due to overheating issue. I am thinking of trying factory reset once before returning this one
Has anyone experienced similar issue or have a solution for it?

Thanks a lot!

Re: moto X style / pure storage space missing - 64 Gb

Hey, i fixed it on mine by going to the recovery menu and wiping the cache
To do these steps just follow these instructions, they are for the moto x 2014 but work for the 2015 as well

Hope this helps

Hey, i fixed it on mine by going to the recovery menu and wiping the cache
To do these steps just follow these instructions, they are for the moto x 2014 but work for the 2015 as well

Lollipop Steps

1. Ensure the device is powered off, and unplugged

2. Press and hold the Volume Down button and Power button (located on the right edge of the device) for approximately 3 seconds then release.

3. From the "Boot Mode Selection Menu" screen, select Recovery.

Note: Use the Volume Down button to scroll through the menu options and the Volume Up button to select.

4. From the "No Command" screen (Android figure lying on his back), press and hold the Power button, tap Volume Up once and then release the Power button.

5. Select "wipe cache partition".

Note: Use the Volume buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.

6. "Reboot system now" will be highlighted, press the Power button to select it.

i cant post the link but just search "recovery menu moto x pure" on google and click the link with tittle "Moto X (2nd Generation) - Clear Cache Partition - Moto G"
that is where i got this info from
Hope this helps
