My Nexus 5 just totally died...Any ideas when the Pixel 2 might come down in price?

My Nexus 5 won't turn on. If I plug it into a power source it will continually click on to the "Google" screen, but then immediately shut off. It will not even begin to cycle through the icons. i tried holding the volume button in and then the on/off switch and it will go to that green screen, but again immediately go blank. So, I think it is time for a new phone as much as this makes me sad. I would like to get the Pixel 2 factory unlocked without the $600+ price tag. Any chance that once the Pixel 3's come out next week that we will see a price drop on the Pixel 2?

Welcome to the forum, Diane!
New always causes a price drop on existing, you can depend on it!

Welcome to Android Central! I would also expect to start seeing more refurbished Pixel 2's, with prices in the $300-400 range. I've had good experiences with refurbs in the past, so I think this is a decent option. You can often get a a good insurance plan with refurbs as well, like SquareTrade, which offers excellent service.

Problem is the pixel 2 will continue to have high resell value due to it being first in line to get software updates/security patches, and it's best in class camera. So you won't be seeing any big drops in price any time soon.

Welcome to Android Central, Diane! Good to have you with us!

I'm sorry your Nexus 5 died - I had a Nexus 5 and loved it. I feel your pain!

Yes, the Pixel 2 line will absolutely drop in price once the Pixel 3 comes out. Plus, there are always deals floating about around this time of year - Black Friday and Christmas will see awesome sales as well. I know you can't wait as long as November/December; but you can always snag some new Pixel 2 accessories for good prices around then too!

The Pixel 2 forums are very active so I am sure you will find a lot of fun discussions and we are always around to help if you have any questions!

If you want to pay shipping...I'll send you an N5....Or an N6

Wow, Chex313! That is very kind of you. May I ask why you would want to get rid of your N5 or N6 and where you live?

Its a 5 year old phone? Its worthless to me...I am in SE PA are you in the continental US?

Oh and as far as your phone it sounds like the battery finally died...

I also have an N4 and a brand new I5 in the drawer...In another month I'll probably have an Pixel 2 XL in there.. LOL (Not offering that one)

The N5 and N6 are both 32GB if I remember right.

Thanks for the offer and I will keep it in mind. I think I would like to gt the Pixel 2 if it goes down in price this week. I need an unlocked phone to use with Consumer Cellular too. Not sure if yours are unlocked. And yes, I'm in MI.

Let us know if you end up getting a Pixel 2 - or any other phone, for that matter! :)
