Welcome to Android Central. Have you tried gently cleaning the SIM card and re-inserting it? Are you certain you are inserting it correctly with the metallic part facing the contacts for the SIM? Also, make sure it is inserted all the way.

If you are still experiencing issues, I would suggest taking your phone to your carrier so that they can get you a new SIM, or make sure the phone is provisioned properly.

Or, if you have access to another phone line, you can try contacting their tech support and they can troubleshoot with you over the phone.
