My observations after watching every video I could find on the Evo 3d

After spending some time watching every video I could find I have come up with a few points of interest, well, at least to me:

1. The red ring around the camera, is it flush with the glass or does it protrude enough to protect the glass?

2. The new carousel in Sense, when you flip from one homescreen to the next, the wallpaper no longer moves along with the homescreen as it does on the current Evo, what does that mean to the current crop of live wallpaper? Take for example the Starfield one in which you seem to be flying through space, as you go to the homescreens on the left and right, the path of the stars changes akin to looking outside of the left and right window, will they still function? I personally just use regular pictures as wallpapers, it was nice to not see the whole picture and that you had to "discover" the rest by swiping left or right to see the whole thing eventually.

3. Apparently buggy software for the weather app and camera app, they either didn't work or crashed the phone in a lot of videos. Kind of disturbing if you ask me, I was hoping they'd be further along in the software building process.

4. Those fancy weather animations that they flipped through, I think there were 12 of them to choose from, where exactly will you see those animations, and why would you pick one, isn't the current weather supposed to coincide with the proper animation? They did look very nice though!

5. Why is everyone asking the same questions? Was there a script with the person doing the demonstration? We know the specs, why ask again? Instead, show more of the UI, show more that has changed. I guess the software wasn't ready enough to show some other apps, maybe some games, maybe some benchmarks? I hope someone will get some more exclusive hands on time so they can run some tests on this thing.

6. I'd love to know how much of the 4 GB of rom is actually available to us for apps, but noone asked.

7. I want to see more more moooooooooooooar!

1. The red ring around the cameras looks a fingernail higher than the glass.

2. I would assume that there would be an option for fixed wallpaper position, and one for scrolling wallpaper and live wallpapers. Some home screen replacements already have that option if i'm not mistaken.

5. Every one wants to get the basic information out there for their followers. I'm sure in a little while, more in depth videos will come out.

6. Just a guess here, but we should have upwards of 3.5GB of usable internal memory for apps. Keep in mind you can put apps on your sd card too.

All in all, i'll be switching back to the HTC department, with the EVO 3D unless something else really blows me away.

I know that apps can be installed on the SD card, I went through all of them one by one and moved each one but I am still low on space, more space is definitely needed, I would be happy with 2gb of free space for apps.

4 GB ROM for app storage. i bet sense only takes up between 50 and 200 MB

That's the assumption based on the specs. But remember what happened to our friends with Verizon that just bought the thunderbolt. It has 8 GB of rom and they get to use 2.5 for apps. Just hoping that won't be the case for us!

I really can not see using up 2.5GB of application storage EVER. there are just not that many things i want. It is all about internal storage for me I want the movies and music i can store.

I had to double check someone's Thunderbolt here at work on that. Why on earth are they limited to 2.5 GB? That sounds more like a bug than what was intended. I can't believe they'd suck up 5+ GB for OS and preinstalled apps.
I will sanely assume that HTC and Verizon will fix that bug and the EVO 3D won't suffer such a bizarre mathematical conundrum. ;)

My buddy just got an Atrix, and he has around 7 GB available from the 8 it comes with. Maybe it's a Verizon thing? Was there any type of limitation like that on the Incredible?

This is just a wild guess, but I am thinking that if you use the weather lock screen, you will get to see the those fancy weather animations they were showing off?

I watched a video today on a leaked rom of 2.3.3 and it took up about 200 mb. My guess is it'll be about 250 megs in the nice polished version.

Thats motorola... HTC installs a crapload of bloat and VZW added theirs as well.

Still.... I doubt very much that it would take up that much. The new version of Sense by itself only weighs in at about 500 MB, all the rest are just apps that can't be any bigger than 50 mb a piece, according to Googles limitations on Android apps.
