My on/off button is not shutting screen off

As stated above. Is there a settings to restore this capability? Or go for reset?

This sort of happened to me yesterday. Full lock up. I was in the dolphin browser at the time. I had to pull the battery. Ouch!
So far it's acting normally. Today I get the froyo91 update maybe there was a fix n there or something.
