My PC casts the Chrome tab but my wife's laptop can't

I had no problem casting a Chrome tab with my Win 7 PC. When I set up my wife's 5 year old Vista laptop, it doesn't detect the Chromecast device even if it is in the same room and using the same WiFi. Does it have to differences in OS or power?

Maybe she doesn't have capable hardware? The Chromecast help page lists what's required:
