My PC rebooted whilst it was updating Lollipop on my phone, what should I do?

My PC rebooted whilst it was updating Lollipop on my phone

The phone is a Z1 compact . When I connect it to the laptop the phone will not start. If I disconnect it the phone begins to start but then stops at a screen saying "update failed. Connect to a computer and try again" . If I connect to the laptop it does not give the option to restart the update!

Welcome to Android Central! Why did the PC reboot during the update? Was there a glitch? Did Windows suddenly decide that was the best time to restart to install Windows updates?

It's never good for a phone's system update process to be unexpectedly interrupted--it probably bricked the phone. I'm not sure if you'll be able to recover it. Are you able to boot into Recovery Mode? If so, try doing a cache wipe: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-11663
