Android Central Question

I have 2 separate cell phone accounts with AT&T, One phone, a Galaxy J7, is only used to forward my number to from the other phone, Galaxy S8+, when I am in the area I need reception in. I have changed sim cards and phones several times but I still don't get a strong enough signal in the area I need the service to work on the one account. If I put the Sim card from the J7, the phone will work, but it is the account and number for the J7 and not the J8+ .

Welcome to Android Central! Tell us the exact model numbers of the phones. If you have a variant that doesn't support all of AT&T's network bands, then it's possible the tower near you is using one of those bands.

If it is an AT&T variant, bring it to AT&T's attention - they could have a problem. (But, as B. Diddy said, if it's not an AT&T variant, it may be missing the only AT&T band available on that tower.)
