My phones (huawei mate 7) microphone isn't working

It doesn't work at all for calls, but when i record a video or use the voice recorder app it picks up my voice and works. What do you think it could be?

Welcome to Android Central! The voice recorder and video camcorder use the secondary mic at the top of the phone. It's likely that your primary mic (at the bottom of the phone is either blocked by something or is faulty. Can people hear you on a call if you use speakerphone, or use a wired or Bluetooth headset?
