My replacement X SUCKS!!

On my old X, I had it set so there was no "slide to unlock" screen. I just hit the home button, and it turned on, and was at the home screen. On my replacement one, I'm told that I can't disable that feature anymore....wtf? Vlingo will not respond to my bluetooth voice commands anymore, unless I first unlock the screen. What good is a hands free "set-up", if I have to unlock the phone to use voice commands?

I loved my old X, but Verizon said that the minor issues that I was having were "software related", so they sent me the new one. This one is horrible, mostly because of the above.... Anyone know of a solution?

Sounds to me like you were still on android version 2.1. The ability to get rid of the slide to unlock ended with the first 2.2 froyo update to my knowledge.

Boyblunder is right, 2.2 removed the option for disabling the slide lock.

Have you tried google voice yet for the other issue?
