my s pen is not working at all

Today i was writing with my s pen on my note 3 and it suddenly stopped, now when i pull out s pen from my note3 it detects it and the menu opens up but its not working at all. I have used the s pen of my friend's note on my note 3 and it just works fine. i dont know what to do now, any help would be appreciated

If i had a case on i would remove it , then I would troubleshoot using a process of elimination starting with a reboot. Then if that doesn't work I would reboot into recovery and clear cache. Lastly I would go to a retail store to test with a working pen to rule out my own pen's failure. If after all of that my issue wasn't resolved I would factory reset to rule out software at which point failure would mean the digitizer itself is broken and the entire screen assembly may need replacement.

To add to muzzy996's list, replace the tip of the spen before taking it in to the repair shop.
