My S7 Edge turns off by itself and then restarts saying

I recently got this phone and every one or two days it restarts when i am using it and then when it turns on it says "your phone is encrypted for security. to start your device enter your password" and when i type in my password everything goes back to normal.
Help please!

check the battery (Settings/Battery - tap the battery to get the graph). Is there a sharp drop to zero at the time the phone reset? If so, the battery is defective and has to be replaced (and, believe it or not, you probably won't be able to get it covered under warranty - batteries are considered consumables).

Your best bet is to back the entire phone up, claim that it's just restarting randomly and ask for it to be replaced.

(It's a known problem with lithium batteries - it's why hybrid/electric cars still use NiMH batteries.)
