My S8 has a strip of light on right side of screen. Is this a feature of the phone?

A 2 inch strip of white on side of screen.

Like there's light bleeding through? If it's light bleed, this is a manufacturing error. No real fix.

That sounds like it could be the Edge feature. Try putting your finger on the strip of light and sliding it to the left. It is the Edge if it brings up apps you can easily open.

Can't be light bleed - S8s have OLED screens where each pixle produces it's own light. There is no back-light like you have with regular IPS LCD screens.

I was confused. I have an S8. I'm familiar with OLED. The edge lighting makes more sense. That feature has been turned off since day one for me. I'd never have thought about that.
