My Samsung Active suddenly did a complete reset

I have a new (2-3 months) Samsung Active.
Yesterday it suddenly did a reset to factory settings without any warnings. It was on my table, without any interaction from me.
I see that I have Android ver. 5.0. I do not know what version I had before it did the reset (or if the reset itself did an upgrade) Is there any way to see this on the phone? Like a log function e.g. ?

Regards,
D.

Re: My Samsung Active suddenly did a complete reset

Welcome to Android Central! Which Samsung phone? Active is a modifier--is it an S4 Active or S5 Active?

System updates are supposed to prompt you to accept before they install, so it shouldn't have occurred on its own. And a system update wouldn't cause a full factory reset, so you shouldn't lose data. Unexpected factory resets sometimes happen, and in these situations, it might be due to some catastrophic glitch in the firmware.

The logcat might give you some information, but I wouldn't know how to interpret it. There are logcat readers available on Google Play, like CatLog.

It maybe have updated the phones software and or you might have accidentally allowed the command prompt in the past to do updates or resets automatically
