My Samsung Galaxy Tablet never has enough room to install software updates. Why is this?

My Samsung Galaxy Tablet never has enough room to install software updates.

I can't figure out why because I keep all my data on an SD card. There is no media on the tablet. I have no idea what to do. When I click on the folders on the the tablet virtually everything is empty except the Data folder under the Android folder.

Do you have a lot of apps or games which might be taking up space.

Open the main Settings. (swipe down and tap the Gear Icon). Then tap on the General tab at the top. On the left tap Storage and see what it shows for the various space allocations and available space.

I found I had 1Gig of misc files and just pared that down.

Under Used Space, I have 5 gigs of Apps. Unfortunately, the way the Android OS is configured, apps generally can't be moved to an SD card.

Clean Master and some other apps are good to find and remove junk files you don't need but just be careful in what you let it delete, and you may want to disable some of the other features that popup all the time that you don't need.
