My Samsung S5 just died this morning! The battery was 47 charged, what could the issue be?

My samsung S5 just died this morning! the battery was 47% charged

I just wiped the screen with a damp cloth and the phone just died!

Welcome to Android Central! How damp? Any cracks in or around the screen? If any moisture got into the phone, the screen might have failed. Can you tell if the phone itself has shut down, or just the screen?
