My Samsung tab e 8.0 audio jack does not recognize 3 pole jacks.

On this android tablet I used to run an audio device off a standard 3 pole jack. Suddenly it quit working in the tablet but is just fine when plugged into my phone. When I plug it into the tablet nothing happens at all. Music continues to play through the speakers as if I did not plug anything in at all. Multiple headphones with 3 pole jacks give the same result. Now if I plug in any 4 pole jack ear buds or headphones it works fine. Already checked and cleaned the socket. Max

Welcome to Android Central! How did you clean the jack -- with a can of compressed air? Did you also root around using a toothpick?

If the jack is clean and multiple headphones (that aren't "Made for iPhone") don't work, then the jack is likely faulty. Is the tablet still under warranty?
