i have a kyocera hydro. i took my 8gb sd card from my old phone, deleted a few things from it that i didnt see a use in having on there (don't ask me what exactly, i dont remember now), and tried to simply put my pictures and music back onto the sd card to have in the hydro.

the folders listed on the card are as follows: .android_secure, Android, fastnote, LOST.DIR, and smvvm.

here's my dilemma. the phone wont recognize my photos or music. i tried putting the music files in numerous places on the card to see if they'd be found, to no avail. i'm not sure if i deleted something i need on there, if i can get that back if that's the case, or if maybe there's something i need to do on the phone to FIND the files that i dont know about.

i'm not the least bit tech savvy. please help...preferably in simple terms!

The pictures SHOULD be found from Gallery on the phone no matter where they are on the card.

Usually it is found in locations like Pictures or DCIM (which is where your camera and video puts them by default)

i found some of the pictures...but this is so strange...when i select a photo it changes to another photo. none of the pics that show up on the screen when i view the whole folder are there...once i click on them they turn into other pics. weird.
and my main problem, the hidden music, is still just that...hidden. is there a certain folder i should be putting the music on/in when it's connected to the computer?

Deleting various files or folders from your Android device's SD card without knowing exactly what they're for can be a little risky. I suspect you might have gotten rid of some important log file. Might be best to reformat the card and start from scratch. As for music, I suggest you create a folder in the root directory of the SD card called "Music," and then transfer your music files there. If you want your music player to categorize things correctly, the proper folder structure should be Music/[artist]/[album]/[song file].

thanks! now...how do i reformat the card?
To erase the sd card from the device, menu > system settings > storage > erase sd card.

To format on a PC: plug the device into your computer and mount the sd card. Depending on the OS, you will have options to format the sd card. Make sure it's FAT32.
