My sim card tray will not go into my HTC One M9

I recently bought a certified refurbished HTC One M9 from Amazon, and when it was delivered I was super excited, but when I ejected the sim card slot and placed my sim card in the tray, the tray would not seem to go back into the phone. I tested the button to see if there was something wrong with it I realized that it was totally jammed I side the phone, what should I do?

Welcome to Android Central! So is the tray stuck partway into the phone? Did you insert the tray with the SIM card contact surface facing the rear of the phone, as shown here? HTC One M9 - nano SIM card - Support | HTC United Kingdom. If you tried to insert it the other way, with the SIM contact surface facing the front of the phone, it might get jammed -- in that situation, you'd have to firmly pull it out.
