My SkullCandy ear bud's pause/play button (w/a mic too, but I'm not concerned about it, js the butto

[Android Central Question]

I used to play music on my phone when I was doing things, and I could press the button twice in quick succession to skip a song, or just once to pause or play. It did this with YouTube sometimes too. But now, they aren't doing ANYTHING. Im not sure what to do, but I want to know how to fix this please.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and what's the exact model of the earbuds? Did the phone recently have a system update? Have you checked to make sure the headphone jack is clear of any debris?
