My Tab isnt charging?

When I have my TAb 10.1 pluged into the wall It wont charge. he battery icon has the charging sign and a red x in it even if I unplug it it stays there.
Any suggestions HELP!!!

Yes. The icon on the screen (bottom right corner) has a charging sign with a red X.
