Wow .... I never imagined my Toshiba Excite tablet would be getting Jelly Bean and who knows how long the update has been waiting because it does not notify me when an update is available. It could have been a month now, but hey, I am excited that I will finally get to see what Jelly Bean looks like :)

I almost put the tablet up for sale yesterday to cover some of the costs of my new laptop, but I changed my mind because I would no longer have a mobile backup in the event something were to happen to the laptop. My new laptop, which I am picking up today is a Sony Ultrabook touchscreen Windows 8. This is my first attempt at Windows 8.

How is the new lappy coming along?

Don't listen to haters ... if you give Windows 8 a few weeks, you just might end up enjoying it. I use it on a lappy with no touchscreen; you have a nice advantage in being able to use the OS as it was intended to be used (with touch).

This is a good list of kb shortcuts:

I like that the Google Search app has voice search & response. I have read that Google Now is coming to Windows 8, too. Win 8 has other nice refinements, as well.

Hey, thanks for the list of shortcuts! So far things are coming along well with Windows 8. I installed an app to bring my start button back. The app has a bunch of features I have yet to figure out yet, but yes, I it is nice to have Windows 8 on a touchscreen. I haven't really had time yet to fully explore Windows 8. I am sure I am going to come upon some really cool stuff!!

Which start button program did you install? I used the freebie one: Welcome to Classic Shell

If that one hadn't been good enough, I might've forked out $5 for this one: Start8? for Windows? 8 - Bringing back the Windows Start menu

Tbolt .... I am loving Windows 8! And now I am mad that I didn't take advantage of this amazing offer to upgrade my desktop. I was scared until I started playing with it and I barely even use the touch function. I will probably upgrade my desktop because it is totally better than Windows 7!

Cheers on the tablet upgrade... and on Windows 8. I bought a new computer last month, so I'm learning the joys of Win 8. I'm not using any add-ons (no silly UI will beat me) but the WIN key is very handy (minimizes the Metro UI and drops me back on the desktop I know and love :p)

Thank you and thank you. I also find that IE9 is much more stable with Windows 8 than 7.

Well, no wonder IE 9 seems more stable with Windows 8. It's not IE9 it is IE10. LOL!
