My tablet suddenly froze and now it won't turn back on, what do I do?

While I was in the middle of watching a video, an alarm came on and it froze for a few seconds, when I tried to dismiss the alarm, it suddenly froze again, this time, it didn't recover. Then, I thought "Ah, I should just wait for it to drain its battery, then charge it, then start it up again".
But even when I drained it and plugged in the charger, nothing happened, I tried holding the power button with the volume thingy, but it didn't work.
At this point, I'm worried...
Can I do something about it, if not, can I get this fixed?
Please help.
