My text sound isn't working galaxy S8. Help?

S8 no text sound or notification when I get messages. I have to use the pop up feature screen so I know I g OT a message.

Have you checked your messaging app's notification Settings to make sure they are enabled? What about in the Notification settings of your phone (not the in-app settings, but the Notification section on your phone's settings)? Is the app not blocked from showing notifications at all? Or is your phone set to Do Not Disturb?
