So I will be using Samsung for this example, but really this applies to any manufacturer.
I'm my case, my beloved Galaxy Tab S3 was starting feel a bit slow and laggy, so I turned to XDA for help. Previously I had had bad experiences with fully custom ROMs (unofficial ports of LOS and RR caused the processor to go into 100C or higher thermal runaway when trying to run anything 3D), so I found a de-bloated stock ROM that also came pre-rooted. I gotta say that, after you let Google do its initial buisiness and left idle for a few hours, the thing is INCREDIBLY fast and works really well again. I don't miss or even notice anything that was removed. Yes it lacks encryption, but whatever. So far an amazing experience, especially with root optimizer software and everything...
