My USB tybe-c adapter wont work with my Oneplus 2

I have the new official Oneplus OTG USB type-c to usb 2.0 type-a female, and it will not work with my oneplus 2, but it works fine with my dads oneplus 3T. Do you know why? Here is the link to the adapter: https://oneplus.net/dk/oneplus-type-c-otg-cable

The USB port on the 2 was badly wired, my workaround was to use a USB-C to micro-USB adapter, then plug a micro-USB to USB-A into that. But your mileage will vary. Finding a cable/combo that works is mostly luck.
