My voice is muted on whatsapp calls while I shift to any other app during the call

Im using oneplus 5T and recently im seeing a strange problem. While I can hear the other person on the whatsapp call, they can't hear me while i shift to another app while on the call. When i come to WhatsApp, they hear me fine again. Need help figuring a fix for this.

The voice gets muted even the screen gets locked sure to inactivity.

I have same problem and it happens also anytime screen turns off. I am using Samsung Galaxy s8.

If i try to use bluetooth airpods or speakerphone on WhatsApp,

and then my screen turns off, then after sometime my mobile get muted, and the listener can't hear me after 1-5 seconds. I don't know why this happening.

I use WhatsApp for business calls and this muting after the screen turns off nonsense is a real challenge. For normal calls I have no problem, just in WhatsApp. Help!!
