my wife got a new phone, Im getting her old one, how do I reset and wipe phone to factory ?

Samsung s3, my phone has charge port problems, I am taking over my wife's old s3
I just want a fresh start, and want to install latest software updates

Go into settings. Under personal there should be an option called backup and reset. Make sure you uncheck the boxes that say automatically restore and then click reset. This should give you a fresh start.
