It will occasionally flash the battery symbol up briefly before shutting back off. She is not sure if the charger fried, or if the charging port fried, or something. She tried another charger, and it doesn't register.

I have encountered this problem on several different Android devices. I usually am able to fix the issue by initiating the boot menu and starting the device in safe mode. I have had to do a full factory reset once, but I wouldn't resort to that just yet. What is the brand and model of her device and I will guide you through it step by step.
