My Z2 says it's up to date but I am still on Kit Kat (v4.4.4).

I am a South Africa user and my phone insists that there are no software updates when I navigate to settings --> about phone --> Software Update.

My friend has the same phone and his phone has prompted for the lollipop upgrade.

Is there a way (w/o rooting) for me to get lollipop if the phone doesnt prompt for the upgrade?

It seems a bit complex if you're not used to it, but as long as you follow it it's pretty easy. This is what I used in the UK about 7 weeks before O2 officially released Lollipop. Obviously back everything up first just in case.

Is your friend on the same provider as you? That could be why he has it and you don't, or maybe his phone is not carrier locked?
