Hey guys... I'm baaaack haha. Sorry I've been out of comm, started a new job and it's been hell, compound is so secure I can't even bring my phone into the office. Anyway... I just want to update you all

I've been testing out a bunch of kernels with Myn's Warm 2.2 and it's been great. I love this ROM. The only problem is that it auto restarts sometimes. I have it daily clocked to 1190 and I benchmark at 1267 to see where it sits at max performance.

Is anyone else running myn's having this problem? Love the ROM. LOVE IT!

Vaelpak is the most stable ROM I've tested... with netarchy-toast 4.1.9.

Missed you guys hope the feeling is mutual.

I've had no problems with Myn's. But I can't flash kernels. Stock kernel ran perfect for me. Just switched to AC ROM again. The updated version has amazing battery life (with the kernel built in to it).

do you have a link so i can run that ROM?

Why can't you flash kernels? thanks for the PM btw. I'm on it, pin is in my sig

If you really want to switch kernels I know a way, a bit tricky but..

Okay, download the Rom you have to your pc, then rip it open, you should see a boot.img that is the kernel, with some other stuff in order to boot up. Well my thinking is, you cook a different kernel into the Rom, then reflash.

Kind of a bit of work, but hit me back and ill tell you the details of how-to.

I thought that you had to modify the kernel in some way to do that. That's why the kernel has to be flashed after you boot the phone after you flashed the ROM.

You're right, that's why you extract certain things out of the .zip that flashable kernels come in, and with a little adb help, create a new boot.img.

I might just be able to make one for you, then you could just replace the one in the rom with the one ill have made.

Some do, some don't. Depends on the kernel. It's really a simple process.

Download ROM to PC
Download kernel to PC
Open ROM and Kernel ZIP with 7zip
Move boot.img from kernel zip into ROM zip
Move the modules from the kernel zip into the ROM zip lib/modules

Done!

This will probably not work more times than it works but if you feel like blowing some time go for it.

Also just to save you some time, I'm fairly confident any of the univesal kernels will not work AT ALL, even after playing with them. Those 100% need a working kernel to flash over. If you have any issue logcat and start researching.

If you guys wanna try battery tweak with any rom use this kernel that adds the values to any rom to allow it to be used.

I'm currently using myns with this stock kernel and battery tweak.

DO NOT use the stock kernel that comes with myn with the battery tweak, because it causes a process to run at 22-32% of the cpu at all time and keeps the phone awake all the time.

Use this.

Flash this, then flash battery tweak, and run it either running a preset or choose #3 and set your own values.

I'm not a fan of the tweak. I don't see a use for it, its the same thing as setting good set CPU profiles...

I love myns 2.2, had battery tweak installed but that was a fail due to kernel,i removed tweak recalibrated battery and as a result had to beg my phone to die this was the BEST life I have ever gotten from my criffvo!

It seems that way but more detailed to me. Like the profiles in setcpu are set for certain battery percentages, but this does it more gradual increments. It's like setcpu goes off a cliff (for example) while the tweak goes down stairs. If that makes sense.

Makes total sense to me... Considering the issues I went thru because of SetCPU and CM6

It was causing my Launchers to drop off and force close...

In other words the sharp scaling of SetCPU made my processes literally fall face first... total ownage

I'm confused... You guys are smarter than me. :)
I got Myn's most recent running yesterday (awesome boot animation). Very happy so far. I was about to choose a kernel for battery life and tweak accordingly, but this whole thread makes me think I need to do more than just flash Kings9.
Did I misread? Any of the Kings should work b/c this is a sense ROM, right? Has anyone done any benchmarking comparing the battery hack posted with the ROM versus kernel choice, etc? Someone please tell me what to do with my new ROM to pimp it out!
